Most commonly referred to as ‘Botox’ short for botulinum toxin. It is a naturally occurring protein used to relax the muscles which smooths out lines and wrinkles. This treatment has very little down time with some slight red raised bumps immediately after treatment which resolves usually within an hour. This treatment reduces lines and wrinkles temporarily and also prevents new lines forming, it typically lasts 3-6months.

Other Botulinum Toxin Treatments

Hyperhidrosis – This treatment reduces excessive under arm sweating. Botulium toxin is injected in small amounts into the armpit which relaxes the muscles involved in producing sweat. Results are noticeable 2-4 days after treatment and can last between 4-12 months. Down time is very minimal and you can return to work straight after treatment.

Gummy Smile – Some people feel that when they smile too much gum is on show or that their gum is too prominent when they smile. This can be easily and effectively be treated with botulinum toxin. Two small injections are placed under the nostrils which relax the muscle to allow the lip to cover the gum when smiling. Results are seen 2-4 days after treatment and typically lasts 2-4 months.
